Final Reflections

This semester has allowed to to reflect on what I enjoy doing and work towards finding a career that includes those things. I have thought about going into marine biology and forensic science but as of now I have decided that forensic science is the route that I want to take. Although I have decided on a field that I want to go into, narrowing that field down is going to be harder. There are so many different branches of forensic science that you can go into, choosing one is going to be hard. I don’t think that I would start out with a job in wildlife forensics but it is a field that I am very interested in exploring in the future.

I have learned about a lot of resources to help me achieve my goals in getting a job in this field. One was learning about all of the services that the career center offers. Some of these include resume and cover letter help. When they came to our class they gave really great advice that I used to update my resume and make it more competitive. They can also help you find jobs that you might be interested in. You can also visit the financial aid office and get information and advice on paying off student loans.

Overall I am very happy with the progress that I have made this semester for my plan after I graduate. Coming into this year I was still very unsure about what I wanted to have a career in but I have managed to narrow it down and use resources offered by the school to help me. I am very excited to graduate and I am happy that I now feel more prepared for my plans after graduation!
